AfroSolo’s Jazz in the Gardens is a component of the AfroSolo Arts Festival, a celebration of African American artists giving voice to the Black experience.
This year, AfroSolo will focus on the Junius Courtney Big Band Orchestra, a 19-piece multicultural band noted for swinging interpretations of Duke Ellington, Count Basie, jazz standards, original compositions and Latin jazz. The Junius Courtney Big Band Orchestra (JCBB) was established in 1966.
